Energy-generating food

Light" and "fit" products are associated with healthy, low-calorie food, which we can reach for even if we are on a diet. Unfortunately, it turns out that they are not always beneficial for our health. What should I pay attention to when buying such products?

- Light" products can really help us lose weight, do not cause tooth decay and are much less energetic than the initial products, because by as much as 30 percent. However, we are only talking about "light" products, because other types of "light" or "fit" no longer have any legal regulations - explains Hanna Stolińska, a nutritionist from the Institute of Food and Nutrition. These products often use different sugar substitutes, such as aspartame, flavour enhancers and thickeners.

The problem is that people buying low-calorie products do not know moderation, they think that they can accept these products much more and can eat the whole package of rice wafers or dietary cakes in one approach, which unfortunately does not support the weight loss process.

Low-calorie products

Products of this type often contain sweeteners. When they are consumed, the body gets information about the incoming dose of energy, so it starts all the processes necessary for digestion and, for example, produces insulin, which in excessive amount can contribute to weight loss. As Hanna Stolińska says, the most important thing is a balanced, varied diet, and once in a while we can afford "light" or "fit" products, but they should not form the basis of our menu.
