Choosing a ready-made desk is not easy, because the shops have a very wide offer. And this is an important piece of furniture, because the child spends a lot of time with it from an early age. He draws at his desk, paints, the student does his homework, uses a computer, reads books. Your desk should have adequate lighting. Ideally it should be natural light from the front or from the side. When choosing a piece of furniture, let's not be guided solely by its aesthetic values. The child has specific requirements and the furniture should be adapted to them. The height of the furniture for a child starting school is about 55 cm. The height adjustment allows you to adjust your desk to your child's height. It is worth looking for a piece of furniture that allows you to set the angle of inclination. The best inclination for manual writing and drawing is 30 degrees. Width of 60-75 cm and depth of 50 cm, will be suitable for the needs of a child. Do not use standard dimensions, but rather adjust the desk to the child. It is best for it to be able to check in the shop to see if it is suitable. When sitting at the desk, the hands must be freely resting on the table and the legs on the floor. The angle between the shoulder and forearm and the angle between the calf and lower leg must be straight. Then the child's posture is correct and safe for the spine.
A height-adjustable desk has the advantage that it will grow with your child and serve him or her for a long time. We will avoid buying new furniture every year. Let us not forget, either, that an incorrect sitting position results in the child's lack of concentration, rolling and, in the long run, scoliosis of the spine.

A child of school age should have a chair equipped with armrests and an adjustable backrest angle. The thoracic and lumbar spine should be supported while sitting, as a motorically developing child may develop curvatures. Shop expert advises you to choose chairs that are easy to keep clean. It must not be too soft or too hard. If the chair meets all requirements, but the child's feet do not reach the ground, then we can buy a footrest.
In addition to functionality and ergonomics, the chair and desk must be aesthetically pleasing. The child will be more willing to learn at a nice desk. The chair can have a upholstery in your favorite fairy tale characters. The furniture must also visually match the rest of the children's room arrangement. In preschool and school age, the toddler will feel best in a colorful interior. If you choose a white or bright desk, it is worth taking care of colourful accessories in the form of containers or utensils in vivid colours. Let us not forget either that a child of this age already has its own preferences. Let him decide on the look of the furniture he will use.
