Limitation of sweetness

A big bucket of ice cream, a blanket and a favorite movie is the most common solution that we choose when we are sad or stressed. Unfortunately, this is not good for our weight and our health. Why do we reach for sweets in times of crisis?

- In stressful situations we usually reach for sweets, not vegetables, because sugar is addictive and if something bad happens, we try to fill the internal void with it - says newsrm.tv Natalia Łasek, a nutritionist, nVit, a dietary clinic. Sweets, i.e. sugar, are associated with something good, so in order to make up for our failures, we reach for sweets.

Many people who want to eliminate sweets from their diets do it from day to day. However, as Natalia Łasek explains, sweets are addictive, so the withdrawal syndrome may appear. We will feel bad, we will have headaches or we will simply be tired.

Excess sugar

It is best to have a clear goal, for example, that in two weeks we will eliminate sugar from our menu. If we can't refuse to eat something sweet, then in this case the best solution is to choose one day in the week, when we will allow ourselves to eat, for example, a bar or chocolate.
