The heat damages not only us, but also the products we buy. The warmer it is, the harder it is to choose nice and fresh fruit and vegetables. Even if you manage to do so, you need to know how to transport them at high temperatures so that they don't lose their freshness.
- If you are shopping at a local market, it is worth doing it in the morning. Then the goods are still fresh, they are not warmed up by the sun. Unfortunately, due to high temperatures, all rot processes develop much faster. It is important to always buy fruit and vegetables that are not damaged and look fresh. I always have to touch everything that I buy - says Grzegorz Goleń, chef of Strauss restaurant in Polonia Palace Hotel.
Once you have selected the right products, you need to transport them home. The shorter the time, the better for our products. At home, however, they can be arranged in such a way that they retain their properties for longer.
- All new generation fridges are now divided into drawers with markings indicating where we should store e.g. cheese, fruit, meat. Markings indicate places with optimal temperature - adds Grzegorz Goleń.
We often choose our products under the influence of the moment when something tempting our eyesight. That's why it's especially important to prepare a shopping list before leaving home. Thanks to it, we will not bring with us unnecessary products, which can break down quickly if they are not used.
