Surgical treatment may be considered when the cause of the disorder is so strong that everyday life becomes so difficult. It will not be true that a cataract must mature. The operation can be performed earlier. This is already a solution that is no longer used when it comes to maturation.

Cataract surgery
Cataract surgery will involve removing a lens that is cloudy and replacing it with an artificial lens. In most cases, the phacoemulsification method is currently used, which consists in the use of soft, curled lenses. The operation consists in making a small incision in the peripheral part of the cornea. A phacoemulsifier tip is inserted through this hole, which leads to the possibility of emitting ultrasounds, which will cause that the nucleus of the lens will be destroyed and thus it will be possible to remove it.
This is because quite an important part of our visual system is being removed and action will have to be taken to replace the artificial lens in order to restore the necessary equilibrium. Artificial lenses to be introduced are usually made of silicone and are characterized by high elasticity, so they are rolled up, because this will make it easier to introduce them into the eye. Then, as soon as the lens is in the right place, the doctor will be able to unfold it and position it exactly in the same position as the natural lens, which has become cloudy.
Before an operation is undertaken, the doctor must carry out a thorough examination, which will allow him to determine the specific power of the artificial lens. Thanks to that, apart from cataract treatment, it is also possible to correct vision and it is certainly a beneficial solution, because it is possible to compensate for a visual defect and after the surgery the patient will be able to function on at least one plane without glasses. Lenses do not have the ability to adapt, so it remains necessary to use the lens to look away or close, depending on which solution will be applied to the patient.
Currently, we have a modern range of foldable lenses, thanks to which it will be possible to additionally use a blue light filter. In this way high energy blue light can be absorbed, which means that the risk of degenerative changes on the spot will be lower.
The second solution is a lens with an aspherical rear surface. Here you can reduce the spherical aberration, which is typical for our eyes, and thus improve the contrast of vision in the person who will be after the surgery. A modern cataract removal procedure is a simple solution, which an experienced doctor will be able to perform in about 30 minutes. It will not require particularly developed methods of operation and the incision made will be small.
Most often everything is done with the use of local anesthesia and after about an hour you can go home with another person as a caregiver, so nowadays, as you can see, cataract treatment is nothing terrible and if there is a problem of lens opacity, it is worth solving it quickly. After a few days you will be able to return to normal operation.
